Venue: The Multipurpose Cultural Centre, Perry Bay.
The National Coordinating Committee (NCC) responsible for the public education campaign on the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council (JCPC) is inviting members of the general public to its first town hall meeting to discuss the national referendum on the CCJ and the JCPC. The event takes place at the Multi-Purpose Cultural Centre at Perry Bay on Monday September 19, 2016, starting at 7:30 pm.
Come and here the facts as well as share your thoughts and/or ideas on whether Antigua and Barbuda should accede to the Appellate Jurisdiction of the CCJ or remain with the JCPC as its highest court of appeal on civil and criminal matters.
A panel of local and regional experts will be on hand to help guide the discussion. A video presentation from the JCPC will precede the discussion.
People living in the surrounding communities are especially invited to attend.
This is a historic moment in time for the people of Antigua and Barbuda…join the conversation.
